The School of Electrical Engineering Held the Award Ceremony of the UHV Power Grid Scholarship

On December 23rd, 2021, the 2021 Ultra-high Voltage (UHV) Power Grid Scholarship award ceremony of the School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University was held in classroom 225 of the Science Building. The ceremony was hosted by Wang Xiang, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, Wu Jia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chen Sisi, the instructor of Grade 2019, 10 award-winning students, and 2019 undergraduates attended the ceremony.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Wang Xiang read out the list of award-winning students. Wu Jia and Chen Sisi awarded the honor certificate and medal to the award-winning students.

Jiang Mingxuan, a 2019 undergraduate of the school, spoke on behalf of the award-winning students. He stressed that the establishment of the UHV Power Grid Scholarship not only makes him feel the care from the state power industry but also encourages him to study hard with fuller enthusiasm and a more positive attitude. He said he was determined to make contributions to China's power industry with practical actions.

Wu Jia then delivered a speech, expressing heartfelt congratulations to the students who won the scholarship and clarifying the value and significance of this scholarship to students majoring in Electrical Engineering and working in the power industry. He pointed out that winning the scholarship was not only a great affirmation of students’ professional learning ability, but also an incentive for students to grow up in the future. Wu Jia encouraged all the students present to actively strive for excellence and forge ahead. It is hoped that the students can be ambitious, realistic and pragmatic, and to become people who contribute to the development of the state power industry.

The UHV Power Grid Scholarship was established on May 16th, 2014. It aims to encourage more excellent students to join the UHV and power industry, to enhance their faith in taking root in the power industry and serving the power development, giving full play to their talents.
